Bishop State Wins Radio Advertising Award

Bishop State Community College won a radio advertising award in this year's National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 Medallion Awards competition. The college captured the Silver in the Radio Advertising Series category.

Bishop State Public Relations Director Herb Jordan accepted the award last week on behalf of the college in New Orleans, LA. The ad series was created and promoted by J. Thomas Inc. of Fairhope for Bishop State and was aired on a number of local radio stations. Winning the bronze (third place) was Kentucky Community and Technical College System. There was no Gold winner.

The NCMPR District 2 Medallion Awards competition recognizes excellence in communications exclusively among two-year colleges in 11 states, The Bahamas and Bermuda. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (ncmpr.org) is the only organization of its kind that represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR has more than 1,550 members from more than 650 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.
