Construction equipment digging at a worksite

Bishop State, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Alabama Dept. of Transportation are collaborating to provide the Heavy Highway Construction Training program. The six-month program provides students hands-on work experience with local construction companies and on-campus classroom learning.

Requirements

Potential students must be:

  • 18 years old or older
  • Be willing to take and pass a drug test
  • Must take Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE) and test at a 5th-grade level or higher

If neither of these requirements has been met by the student, after he or she completes an application, potential students will have an opportunity to take the TABE test at Bishop State before being fully accepted into the program.




Class Offerings
