The Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program prepares graduates for entrylevel positions in the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of climate control equipment as they learn basic principles and technical skills for the industry. Students learn to install, maintain, service, and repair both industrial and residential environmental control systems. They practice troubleshooting techniques, preventive maintenance, and servicing of system components.
Students use laboratory equipment and trainers to sharpen skills, and live working systems provide opportunities for students to apply troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures.
Training equipment in the laboratory includes gas heating equipment, heat pumps, ice machines, commercial refrigeration units, and air conditioning systems.
