Mobile, Alabama – Bishop State Community College and the Mobile Airport Authority unveiled Thursday an aviation and aerospace initiative designed to boost workforce development efforts in skilled trades while bolstering the redevelopment of Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.
The announcement, made in the aeroplex’s warehouse district before a sizeable crowd of supporters and dignitaries, outlined an apprenticeship program that will pair Bishop State students in drafting and design, graphic communication arts and welding with hands-on training at both the airport authority and – eventually – with aeroplex tenant companies.
