The dual enrollment program at Bishop State Community College allows eligible high school students to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. College courses count toward high school graduation credits and the courses remain a part of the student’s regular transcript. Academic and technical dual enrollment opportunities are available at Bishop State. Alexis Scott was an academic dual enrollment student in high school. She completed her Associate Degree at Bishop State and is now a Biomedical Engineering Major at Alabama State University. “If I didn’t go to Bishop State when I first got started, I wouldn’t have known how important it is to have one-on-one relationships with teachers,” said Alexis. “That is the difference between you being a B student or an A student.” Click on the image below to hear from Alexis as she explains the positive impact dual enrollment has had in her education.
