(MOBILE, Ala.) - Bishop State Community College, in partnership with Airbus, is offering an Aviation Manufacturing Technology short certificate program for high school dual enrollment students beginning this fall.
The 18-hour certificate will train students for a high-flying career in the aviation industry as they earn industry-recognized certifications and college credits from Bishop State. The training will take place at the Faulkner Career Technical Center and will include courses like Aviation Manufacturing, Aerostructure Assembly, and Aviation Electrical Assembly.
“Bishop State Community College is proud to offer the new Aviation Manufacturing Technology program to our students,” says David Felton, Bishop State’s Dean of Applied and Career Technologies. “Introducing new programs that are relevant to the ever-changing needs of business and industry is a part of Bishop State’s mission to serve all of our community. This high-demand program will provide rewarding and high-wage jobs within the emerging regional aviation industry.”
This program is supported by representatives of local aviation industries who are members of the program's advisory board. Students who would like to learn more about the program and its requirements should contact their high school counselor.
