Congratulations to Bishop State's Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) students for passing their EPA 608 Refrigerant Recovery Certification!
More that 24 students chose to take the critically assessed exam on March 23, 2022 and they had a 85% passing rate!
With this certification, these HVACR students will now be able to choose a career path in multiple arenas. For students who are currently employed in the field, it also means they will receive a $2 to $3 dollar an hour pay increase.
Those who have not entered the workforce yet and are at entry-level employment will automatically receive a wage increase. Employers looking to hire in this field ask potential employees if they have this certification when they are looking to hire and when they interview our prospective graduates for jobs.
"I am very proud of these outstanding students," says Keith Gee, Bishop State's HVACR Program Coordinator and Instructor. He looks forward to seeing them excel in the HVACR field.
