The Bishop State Community College Foundation would like to invite you to the Inaugural Bishop State Wildcat Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony. It will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 6 p.m. at the Baker-Gaines Central Campus. WKRG Sports Director, Randy Patrick, will serve as the Master of Ceremony. The event will recognize and honor former members of the Bishop State Athletics Department and will include dinner, recognition of our honorees, and what is sure to be several trips down memory lane. This year we have eight honorees who will be inducted into the Bishop State Wildcat Sports Hall of Fame. The honorees are:
Oscar James (posthumously) - Bishop State's first men's and women's basketball coach
Marcine Chatman (posthumously) - Bishop State's first men's baseball coach
William Bell - Bishop State's first track and field coach
Eddie Pearson - MLB 1st round draft pick
Cleon Jones - Bishop State women's softball coach and former Mets World Series outfielder
Harold Edwards -basketball athlete
Whitney Valentine - softball athlete
The members of the first Bishop State women's basketball team
Individual tickets can be purchased for $25 at the Bishop State Main Campus Business Office. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Bishop State Community College Foundation.
