five people pose for a photos

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness, Bishop State Community College partnered with Lifeline Counseling Services and the Mobile Police Department to create a powerful new public service announcement (PSA) that addresses sexual assault on college campuses.

The PSA features Bishop State students Joia McCaskey, Elizabeth Gates, Connor Washington, and Officer Karen Harris.

The film depicts dating violence from the perspective of a college student and demonstrates the criminal justice process, from arrest to trial. It also highlights the vital victim services provided by Lifeline Counseling.

Bishop State hosted a premiere screening of the PSA on September 19th at 6 p.m. in the Delchamp's Theatre. Following the screening, there was a discussion on sexual assault awareness.

The event was open to all students and employees to help raise awareness about this critical issue and support our campus community.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, please know that you are not alone. You can reach out to the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673 for confidential support.
