Two high school seniors, Myron James of Leflore High School and Jayce Thompson of B.C. Rain High School, committed to attend Bishop State Community College on May 3, 2017 as part of National College Signing Day for members of the Mobile Kappa League. Dr. Reginald Sykes took part in the event with Myron James of John L. Leflore High School and Jayce Thompson from Ben C. Rain High School. The Kappa Leadership & Development League is a program founded by Kappa Alpha Psi designed to aid young men of high school age to grow and develop their leadership talents in every phase of life. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. started this national initiative where young men from all over the country commit to attend a certain educational institution during National College Signing Day. This year 23 members of the Mobile Kappa League took part in the signing day. Bishop State strives to have even more young men commit to attend Bishop State each year during National Signing Day.
