Bishop State offers two award options for this curriculum. The Certificate program offers skills necessary for entry-level employment. The Associate degree offers a minor in Truck Driving, which allows students to acquire the Commercial Driving License (CDL) needed for many positions in the field. Specialized classroom and laboratory activities provide the student with the opportunity to learn all phases of repair work on diesel-powered equipment. Students learn to diagnose malfunctions, service and repair diesel equipment, and repair fuel injection systems. The use of technical manuals, tools, and machine testing is emphasized.
The Diesel Technology program provides training, knowledge and skills for those who desire to learn how to troubleshoot and repair truck and construction equipment systems.
