The HVAC Fast Track Program is an accelerated non-credit training program that teaches technical knowledge and skills to repair, install, service, and maintain the operating condition of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
The curriculum includes diagnostic techniques, use of testing equipment, and principles of mechanics, electricity, and electronics as related to repair. Participants earn Bishop State and EPA Section 608 Refrigerant certifications.
According to the HVACR Workforce Foundation, by 2021 there will be a shortage of 170,000+ technicians. The 11-week program is an innovative partnership between Alabama Power and Bishop State to help address an emerging workforce need in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) field.
